Thomas Ela has been a financial planner since 1984 and prides himself on providing his clients with quality service and the highest integrity. He received his Bachelor of Arts from William Paterson College in Wayne, New Jersey. He holds the designation of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He is involved in the ongoing financial education program at FINRA and Cetera Wealth Services.
As a Registered Representative with Cetera Wealth Services, LLC, Tom strives to meet the needs of individuals, professionals, business owners and retirees. As a full-service financial planner, he examines the client’s entire financial picture. This includes retirement, college, and estate planning, as well as life, health, disability and long-term care insurance. Tom works in tandem with a local attorney and CPA to review his clients’ wills and tax returns to ensure that all bases of a sound financial plan are addressed. He and his staff are driven to build long-lasting relationships with our clients.
Since 2014 Tom has been a member of the Cetera Circle of Excellence1. In 2007, Tom received the honor of being named Financial Network’s Outstanding Representative of the Year2, which was given to him as recognition of his contribution to his region, his community and service efforts.
Tom prides himself on providing his clients with quality service and the highest integrity to gain the client’s confidence. Tom’s goal is to help his clients sort through the myriads of financial options, products and services and offer advice appropriate to each individual’s specifics situation. By establishing himself as an independent financial planner, Tom offers his clients access to a wide range of top-tier sources, products and carriers available in the marketplace, best suited to their individual requirements.
During his career in the financial planning industry, Tom has made a commitment to hard work and long hours. Through his dedication to excellence and reputation for outstanding service, Tom has built a solid client base and has extended his business through referrals from clients.
Tom has been involved with Rebuilding Together, a national organization that rehabilitates the homes of low-income homeowners. In addition to Rebuilding Together Bergen County projects, he took three trips to the Gulf Coast to help rebuild homes devastated by Hurricane Katrina. He was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader in Wyckoff for 7 years.
Tom resides with his wife, Trish, in Wyckoff, New Jersey. His hobbies include fishing, boating, cycling, skiing and golf. He enjoys spending time in Chatham, Cape Cod.
